There has been a movement in the academic literature to talk about “sustainability business” rather than “sustainable business.” The table below shows the distinction between these two. Most discussion about “sustainable business models” appear to emphasize the elements in the left column associated with “sustainability.” But it would be confusing to start talking about “sustainability business models,” since convention has adopted “sustainable business models” as standard.
